A man was getting a haircut before his trip to Rome.<\/p>\n
He mentioned his upcoming travels, and the barber said, \u201cRome? Why would you want to go there? It\u2019s crowded and dirty. You\u2019re making a mistake! How are you even getting there?\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re flying with American Airlines,\u201d the man replied. \u201cWe got a great deal!\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cAmerican Airlines?\u201d the barber said, shaking his head. \u201cThat airline? Their planes are old, the flight attendants aren\u2019t great, and they\u2019re always late. So, where are you staying?\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re at the International Marriott downtown.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cUgh, that place is terrible! Small rooms, bad service, and it\u2019s way overpriced. So what\u2019s your plan once you\u2019re there?\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re going to visit the Vatican and hopefully get a chance to see the Pope.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cGood luck with that!\u201d the barber laughed. \u201cYou\u2019ll be stuck at the back of St. Peter\u2019s Square, and from there, the Pope will look like an ant. You\u2019re in for a tough time.\u201d<\/p>\n
A month later, the man came back for his regular haircut. The barber asked, \u201cSo how was Rome?\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cIt was amazing!\u201d the man replied. \u201cNot only did we fly on one of American Airlines\u2019 brand-new planes, but it was overbooked, so they bumped us to first class. The food was delicious, and I had the most amazing flight attendants. And the hotel? They had just done a $25 million renovation, and it\u2019s now the best place in the city! They were overbooked too, so they gave us the presidential suite at no extra charge!\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cWell, I\u2019m sure you didn\u2019t get to meet the Pope,\u201d the barber muttered.<\/p>\n
\u201cActually, I did!\u201d the man said with a smile. \u201cAs we were touring the Vatican, a Guard tapped me on the shoulder and said the Pope likes to meet certain visitors. He invited me into a private room, and five minutes later, the Pope walked in, shook my hand, and I even got to kneel down as he spoke with me.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cWow, really?\u201d asked the barber. \u201cWhat did he say?\u201d<\/p>\n
