The doctor, trying to make polite conversation, asked, \u201cMrs. Edna, how are you feeling these days?\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cOh, I\u2019m feeling just fine, doctor,\u201d she said. \u201cBut I do have one little problem\u2026 I seem to be passing gas quite a bit. It\u2019s nothing too bad \u2014 they\u2019re silent, and they don\u2019t smell at all. In fact, I\u2019ve probably passed gas about 10 times just sitting here talking to you\u2026 but you\u2019d never know because they\u2019re completely harmless.\u201d<\/p>\n
The doctor smiled, nodded, and scribbled something on his notepad.<\/p>\n
\u201cAlright, Mrs. Edna, I\u2019m going to give you these pills. Take them twice a day and come back in a week.\u201d<\/p>\n
A week later, Edna walked into the office, arms crossed and looking furious.<\/p>\n
\u201cDoctor! I don\u2019t know what those pills did, but now my gas smells terrible!\u201d<\/p>\n
The doctor looked up, grinning. \u201cGreat! Now that we\u2019ve fixed your sense of smell, let\u2019s work on your hearing.\u201d<\/p>\n
