The waiter brings the meal, served in a lidded cast-iron pot.<\/p>\n

Just as the wife is about to serve herself, the pot\u2019s lid rises slightly and she briefly sees two beady little eyes looking around before the lid slams back down.<\/p>\n

\u201cGood grief, did you see that?\u201d she asks her husband.<\/p>\n

He hasn\u2019t, so she asks him to look in the pot<\/p>\n

He reaches for it and again the lid rises, and he sees two little eyes looking around before it slams down.<\/p>\n

Sputtering in a fit of pique, he calls the waiter over, describes what is happening, and demands an explanation!<\/p>\n

\u201cPlease sir,\u201d says the waiter, \u201cwhat you order?\u201d<\/p>\n

The husband replies, \u201cChicken Surprise.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cAh\u2026 so sorry,\u201d says the waiter, \u201cI bring you Peeking Duck.\u201d<\/p>\n

While attending to a different table, the waitress observed the man gradually sinking his seat and disappearing beneath the table, while the woman displayed an indifferent demeanor.<\/p>\n

Observing the scene, the waitress witnessed the man smoothly gliding down his chair until he vanished beneath the table.<\/p>\n

While the woman opposite him maintained a composed and unaffected demeanor, seemingly oblivious to her companion\u2019s disappearance.<\/p>\n

Upon completing the order, the waitress approached the table and addressed the woman, saying, \u201cExcuse me, madam, but I believe your husband just slipped beneath the table.\u201d<\/p>\n
