74-year-old famous and talented actor was playing the role of a man who had mental illness, and was living on the streets after he was forced out from his apartment.<\/p>\n
In a movie scene, he was supposed to be a homeless man, and then he dressed in rags and sat on the street in his attire, where thousands of people were passing through him.<\/p>\n
\u201cI was out there for the very first shot, 40 minutes plus \u2013 no one made eye contact with me, I was in character,\u201d he said. \u201cI was in one of the busiest places in New York. If I had been Richard Gere there, I wouldn\u2019t have lasted 30 seconds.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cIt was just I wasn\u2019t the movie star and people\u2019s projections on what they saw from the body language and where I was in the street filled in these spaces with an erroneous story,\u201d famous actor said.<\/p>\n
\u201cNo one gave him a cent. No one even recognized him. And that proved the whole point: The homeless are all around us and we don\u2019t see them.\u201d Oren Moverman, director of the movie shared.<\/p>\n
