An era is about to expire. Pat Sajak, the show\u2019s 40-year host, revealed his decision to hang up the microphone and leave the venerable game show.<\/p>\n

Sajak first hinted that he would be departing the show in 2021, so his retirement has been long overdue. In his words to Entertainment Tonight, \u201cWe\u2019re closer to the end than the beginning.\u201d I\u2019d want to go before viewers tune in and start to wonder, \u201cOoh, what happened to him?\u201d<\/p>\n

The Daytime Emmy winner hinted about leaving again the following year, telling the same site that he was content with how well he had kept his commitments and was prepared to hand the reins over to someone else.<\/p>\n

Years pass quickly. He said, \u201cThe end is almost here. It\u2019s a privilege to have stayed so long in people\u2019s living rooms. People were outside to welcome us. We feel happy and comfortable.<\/p>\n

Sajak, who has performed on \u201cWheel of Fortune\u201d for almost 40 years, is prepared to say goodbye.<\/p>\n

Pat Sajak will stop hosting \u201cWheel of Fortune\u201d after the 2023\u20132024 season. The renowned presenter tweeted his decision to stop his record-breaking career as the longest-running game show host on television.<\/p>\n

\u201cWell, now is the right moment. Our 41st season, which kicks out in September, will be my last, I\u2019ve decided,\u201d he stated. I\u2019ll have more to say in the upcoming months. The trip itself was excellent. I really do appreciate you all.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn my house, a classic example of hilariously dry humor and joy\u2026 I\u2019m thankful for your 42 wonderful years,\u201d one supporter remarked. \u201cMost of my life has been spent watching you! One of my favorite TV programs is Wheel of Fortune. Someone said, \u201cThank you for all the lovely years.\u201d<\/p>\n

Since 1981, Sajak has been in charge of the \u201cWheel of Fortune\u201d directing.
